Learning Groups

Social Change Learning Group

Aims

The aim of this Learning Group is to share knowledge and expertise in relation to our understanding of the broad social, political and economic contexts of early childhood services in order to identify strategies to engage governments and other national and international organizations to promote and support the design and delivery of early childhood programs seeking to promote respect for ethnic diversity.

Outputs

The Learning Group is currently preparing two Working Papers that will be made available via the Reports page of this website:

  • The first Paper will provide an overview of the broader economic, political and social contexts within which the early childhood sector operates by outlining the nature of social change and the factors that influence social change and their subsequent impact upon early childhood provision.
  • The second Paper will focus more specifically on a range of issues and challenges facing those wishing to sustain and enhance the delivery of existing early childhood programs that promote respect for ethnic diversity.
